Commitment to Inclusivity
St. Luke United Methodist Church "affirms that all persons are individuals of sacred worth, created in the image of God (United Methodist Book of Discipline, 2008)." At the same time we recognize that too many of God's children continue to suffer the pain of exclusion or discrimination by the church and our society. Given these opposing realities, we are compelled by conscience to make explicit our reaffirmation of the universality of God's reconciling grace, the sole ground and reason for our existence as the church.
St. Luke United Methodist Church welcomes all people who would join us in worship and service, regardless of ethnicity / nationality, sexual orientation or gender identity (LGBT), age, physical or mental abilities, religious background, economic class, or family structure. We acknowledge that we are all on this journey of faith together, constantly working toward growth in love, understanding and mutual respect for the wondrous diversity of God's people.
We are a proud to be a Reconciling Church. For more information: visit the Reconciling Ministries Network homepage.
