Our Mission is to Follow in the Way of Jesus
The mission of St. Luke is to work for God's peace, hope, love and justice in the world.
This mission takes many forms, but can best be summarized by saying we're trying to follow in the Way of Jesus,
which we believes transforms us and the world.
To practice peace, St. Luke seeks to provide a sacred space to worship, reflect, learn and grow.
To offer hope, St. Luke encourages our people to be "messengers of good news," sharing the unconditional love and grace of Jesus with those who have lost hope, the disenfranchised, the oppressed, those burned or bored by religion, and those society calls "less than."
To love God and neighbor, St. Luke recognizes the sacred worth of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, serves the homeless and hungry locally in Austin and internationally in Guatemala, and supports one another through all of life's up's and down's.
To work for justice, St. Luke supports the Reconciling Ministries Network, the Hope Food Pantry, the CROP Walk, Out Youth, the Interfaith Action of Central Texas and Project Salud y Paz. We pride ourselves on being a neighborhood church creating a big impact.
We hope you will join us in learning what it means to actively love God, our neighbors and ourselves.
